BATS? Why on earth would anyone want a bunch of bats hanging around their home?
... let alone to learn how to build a bat house?
Well... to be honest, it may sound strange... BUT there are LOTS of reasons someone would want bats flying around their property. Most importantly, would be the fact that bats can eat up to 1,200 mosquito-sized critters in one hour. Couple that with the host of other bugs and creatures that bats can ward off for you -- I'm talking crop and garden destroying bugs, like various types of beetles, stink bugs, leafhoppers, various moth types, termites, assassin bugs, ants, roaches, crickets, and grasshoppers. NOW you've got yourself a welcome, UM... pet. (for lack of a better word)
Actually it is not legal to keep bats as pets, HOWEVER... you can do things that inspire them to hang around your home, your yard, or your property. Like -- build inviting bat houses.
